Blue honeysuckle cultivars bred at the l.P. Symyrenko Institute of Pomology under the conditions of the Ukraine’s Lisosteppe

The blue honeysuckle cultivars Chaika, Golubka, Anyuta, Blagorodna were created and 5 elite hybrid forms of this crop selected as a result of the multi-year breeding work carried out at the L.P. Symyrenko Institute of Pomology, NAAS. In the researched assortment high-productive cvs and elite forms were singled out as follows: Blagorodna and 1-40 – owing to the berries mass, the form 2-22 – their taste qualities (8.5 points), Anyuta, Chaika, Vasyugans’ka, Blagorodna, 2-22 – fruits chemical composition. On the basis of the obtained data ‘Chaika’, ‘Golubka’, ‘Anyuta’, ‘Blagorodna’ are recommended to be cultivated on farmers’ and private domestic farms in the Right-Bank Lisosteppe of Ukraine.
