Agroeconomic evaluation of two systems of apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) trees small-volume crown formation in the orhard of the “dutch type” / Rastorguyev O.B. // Sadivnytstvo (Horticulture). – 2015. – 70. – P. 70-77. – Refs.: 13. – in Ukrainian.
The author presents the results of the comparative evalution of two methods of the apple tree small-volume crown formation (freely growing bush and slender spindle) concerning main indexes of the tree growth, orchard productivity, and economic effectiveness of fruit growing in the South of Ukraine. The investigations have shown that these methods influenced almost equally the growth processes both in separate years and in the total 16 years research. However, the formation of the spindle tree crowns was more time-consuming and less economically efficient as compared to the freely growing bush.
Key words: apple, crown shape, growth, yield, mass of fruits, economic efficiency.
