Inoculation height and planting depth influence on the sweet cherry (Cerasus avium Moench.) trees growth and fruit bearing / Turbin P.A. // Sadivnytstvo (Horticulture). – 2013. – 67. – P. 140-145. – Refs.: 4. – in Russian.
The author presents the results of studying for there years the effect of the inoculation height and planting depth on the sweet cherry cultivars ‘Gronkavaya’ and ‘Gastsinyets’ trees growth and fruit bearing. The planting plan was 4.5 x 2 m. The variants were studied with the inoculation height 20, 40 and 60 cm, and planting depth 10-40 cm (in increments of 10 cm), control 20 and 10 cm respectively. The change of the trees vigour for cv ‘Gronkavaya’ was 13.8%, as regards ‘Gastsinyets’ the height reduction marked of up to 9.4% as compared to the control. The trunk cross-sectional area ranged from 12.5 to 20.6% (‘Gastsinyets’) and from 17.7 to 34.1% (‘Gronkavaya’). In 2011 the first ‘Gastsinyets’ crop was obtained. The yield varied from 1.3 to 2.1 c/ha, the minimum one was observed in the control variant.
