Physiologo-biochemical characteristics of the apple (Malus domestica Borkh.)  plants photosynthetical activity in intense orchards of various constructions / Nenko N.I., Kisyelyova G.K., Karavayeva A.V. // Sadivnytstvo (Horticulture). – 2012. – 66. – P. 222-229. – Refs.: 5 . – in Russian

The peculiarities of the apple cultivars ‘Zarnitsa’, ‘Din Art’ ‘Idared’, ‘Symyrenkivets’ on the rootstock M. 9 photosynthetic activity were studied in intense orchards with various constructions. On the basis of physiologo-biochemical and anatomo-morphological values the authors have determined that cvs ‘Zarnitsa’, ‘Din Art’ (NCRRIHV breeding) and the introducåad one ‘Symyrenkivets’ (Ukraine) adapt better to drought in more tense orchard and ‘Idared’ (USA) in a densed one. The optimum construction of intense orchards for ‘Idared’ is more densed (crown-row, planting plan 4.0 x 0.6 m), for ‘Symyrenkivets’ tense (4.0 x 1.2 m, crown fan-like).
