The authors present  the results of  studying  columnform apple  varieties 'Valyuta' and 'President'  bred at the All-Russian Breeding and Technological Institute for Horticulture and Nursery on the rootstocks 62-396, 54-118, M.26 and 106-13.  The mentioned cultivars on the former three rootstocks  have already started fruiting on the second year after tht inoculation. The highest total yield for three years of the investigation was produced by the following inoculated and rootstocked combinations: 'Valyuta'  on  M.26 and 62-396 (99,0 and 115,2 tons per hectare respectively) and  'President'  on  62-396, M. 26, 54-118 (60,8; 57,9; 50,4 tons per hectare).
